How old is Earth?

I have my own theory of how old the earth realy is and why scientist think the
earth is millions of years old.
One is the fact that time as we know it didn't actually come into effect until
God created the sun and the moon which was the on the third day.  So were the
first three days actually "24 hours" also God doesn't measure time the way we
do doesn't the Bible say that a day to God is 1000yrs on earth.  So did
creation actually last 7000 years???  Does God use the word "day" to indicate a
since of order and gave each phase of creation a begining and ending??

Also if God doesn't get tired why did he have to rest???:)
