Just a little thought...

If I was to walk down the streets of my town, where my husband and I are
youth ministers, and I was wearing make-up, do you think I would be
sending out a good witness for our church? Let's face it , one of the
many things that the world knows about us as Pentecostals, is that WE
DON'T WEAR MAKE-UP! The moment I put on make-up, and walk outside my
house, I am no longer projecting the image of a Pentecostal woman,
thereby, I am hurting my witness. We must remember that man DOES look on
the outward appearance. If I look like everyone else in the world, how
will the world know that I'm not LIKE everyone else in the world??

I must disagree strongly with those who feel that a "little bit" of
make-up is O.K. To my knowledge, the Bible does not condemn cigarette
smoking either. Does this mean it would be all right for me to smoke?
How effective would my witness be then?? I am reminded of a quote from
Bro. Simeon Young, Sr. from Terre Haute, IN. At a past church camp of
ours he said, "Your spirituality is only as strong, as the smallest
principle you chose to reject." I really like this statement. To me, it
really is a strong reason to not compromise my standards, to fit into
this world.
