Why Thief not baptized?

I wrote an extensive paper on this very matter in my website

In it the thought is discussed showing how Jesus told the 
disciples to BEGIN preaching the message of repentance and
remission of sins in His name AFTER He left them and after
they received the power.  This was fullfilled in Acts 1 and 2.
BEGINNING AT JERUSALEM, Jesus said.

So to take any incident before Acts 2 is to overlook the important
words of Jesus in Luke 24:47-49.
