Bro. Chris:
> 1 Timothy 2:11-13(amplified):
> Let a woman learn in quietness, in entire
submissiveness.
> I(paul talking here) allow no woman to teach or to have
authority
>
> over men; she is to remain in quietness and keep
silence{in
> religious assemblies} For Adam was first formed, then
> Eve.

Me:
This is the real danger of using different translations.
Mine reads:
"12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp
authority over the man, but to be in silence." Notice the
word "the!" This means a womans HUSBAND, PERIOD!

Bro. Chris:
> Notice 1 Timothy 3:1-2
> "This is a true saying, If a *man* desire the office of
bishop,
> he desireth
> a good thing. A bishop must be blameless, a *husband*
of one
> wife..."
>
> A deacon position is set up the same way, husband of one
wife.

Me:
I agree that these two offices are to be men only but only
these two.
The pastorate is a GIFT and a ministry. There is no
restriction on
women on these.

Bro. Chris:
> Now to contradict everything I just said, I found this
verse:
>
> Philippians|4:3 And I entreat thee also, true
yokefellow, help those
> women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement
also, and with
> other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of
life.
>
> This is the only thing which kind of throws me off my
perch a little bit.
> Did these
> woman preach or did they just positively influence?

Me:
They preached. Good principle of Bible study: If ten
thousand verses seem to say a thing is right and one says
that it is WRONG, go with the one that says it is WRONG.
IOW, it only takes one verse to prove a thing wrong and a
thousand will not necessarily prove it right. There are
many more verses FOR women pastors
but I won't go into them. Consider that there were FEMALE
prophets that told Paul HIMSELF that he was NOT to go to
Jerusalem. Prophets/prophetesses are soncond ONLY to
Apostles. Prophecy ranks two or three higher than Pastor.

No women Apostles, no women bishops and no women deacons.
IF they are called into ANYTHING ELSE it is Biblically
sound as long as they are in proper subjection to their
husband who is to be in proper subjection to Christ. This
means that he will allow her to answer her calling since
all gifts are for the edification of the body.

Is this the way things are done? Doesn't change the fact
that this is the way that they should be done and I will
add that this,it is the way Jesus will have it and VERY
SOON!
