Pastor F:
> Dear Timothy, It would seem to me that the whole five
fold ministry is a gift, And I gave unto you Apostles,
Prophets, Pastor, Evanglists and Teachers.

Me:
I think these are callings with gifts. The Apostles were
prophets, pastors, evangelist and teachers. Prophets are
pastors, evangelist and teachers. Pastors are evangelist
and teachers... Well you get the idea. There is no gift
of Apostelship but there is a gift of prophesy (prophecy?).
A female can have the gift of prophecy but cannot be an
Apostle. There is no gift of "pastorship" as this is a
position through which one uses the gift of
"administration." Women can have any gift without regard
to person but there are certain "offices" which are not for
them. As far as I can see, a woman cannot be a bishop or
deacon since the requirements are ones that only males can
meet and there are only 12 Apostles and although I think
there are others that are "sent" I think the openings in
the offices of Apostle have been filled (is a prophet that
is sent an Apostle?).

Pastor F:
I don't know why you singled out Pastors, but all of these
above are gifts from God to the Church.

Me:
True!

Pastor F:
Just trying to be Litteral.

Me:
I, sir, am honored, but you should be frightened! :-) Iron
sharpens iron so I like to see the sparks fly every now and
then and get fanned into a flame by the Spirit!
