Did you know....

When a cat is declawed, they actually remove not only the claw itself, but
the surrounding bone and tendons?

If the same thing were done to humans, it would be like lopping off our
finger at the first knuckle.

Which is why my husband and I trim our cats' claws with a special clipper. 
Much like trimming our own nails (if you start young enough, it isn't world
war III).

Besides, how would kitty defend herself if she should get out by accident?
