The KJV was good enough for Peter and Paul, it's good enough for me.

_Many_ of the "errors" in the KJV come from a lack of understanding of
17th century English.

Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but
fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; Ephesians
2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus
Christ himself being the chief corner [stone]; Ephesians 2:21 In whom all
the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the
Lord:

1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an
holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by
Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the
scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious:
and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. 1 Peter 2:7 Unto
you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be
disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the
head of the corner,

They didn't/hadn't provided any explainations?

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom
knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them
that believe. 1 Corinthians 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the
Greeks seek after wisdom: 1 Corinthians 1:23 But we preach Christ
crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks
foolishness;
