He certainly did not write it to himself (my opinion). I do not think
he wrote to the woman (an adulteress is *NOT* a lady!). Therefore, he
must have written to the others.
What did he write? Perhaps he wrote, without speaking, of the sins
the others had committed, in such a way that they each personally knew
that he was intimately aware of the sins each individual had
committed, but also in such a way that each person was not able to
determine the sins of any of the others and identify who had committed
each sin.
Because of this, he was able to say with authority, "Let him that is
without sin cast the first stone." No one was able to qualify to cast
that first stone, and He had proved it to each individual's
satisfaction. (Again, I have no scripture for this; just my opinion.)
