Well I have always liked the study of Shimei and Solomon where Jehu was
killed at the altar and Shimei tried likewise to weasel out of the
crimes he committed. The Altar had 4 horns that represented Mercy. Jesus
of course has shown us mercy and grace. At the Altar was the sacrifice.
We now sacrifice ourselves. I am one step ahead and hear "well that is
the Old Testament, what about the New?". Well in the New is the Old
fulfilled and in the Old is the New revealed. I think the symbolism is
more than a short Bible Study. The altar is the place of submission. That
is what going down front means- submission and surrender.
Any other views? This looks interesting.
