Me:
The dollar is the "token" that indeed "pays the debt." The
reason that this is accepted as "legal tender" is the FAITH
that everyone places in the government that issues the
TOKEN. (This just lit in someones heart). The value of
the paper is established by what it represents. The dollar
represented gold at one time. Our token is baptism and
this "washing by water" is what pays "our" debt since God
has established this as "legal tender" that represents the
thing of value, the ONLY thing that God values: The
sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5, "25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ
also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26 That he
might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by
the word," Cleansed by the water: 1 Peter 3, "20 Which
sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of
God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a
preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by
water. 21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also
now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the
flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by
the resurrection of Jesus Christ:" Baptism saves us. This
is the token of the acceptance of the Blood.
There are more but these will do. We are saved by BAPTISM.
We remain saved by confession. Baptism in the name of
Jesus Christ is the only "legal tender" for anyones sins.
Confession is the washing of the feet.
