I am amazed that people would limit God to only speaking 'Old English' (better
labeled King James English)--'Old English' is the Germanic prototype of our
language, and if God spoke it to the Church, you would never understand it.
How can we freeze God's vocabulary in the 17th c.? Even though nearly every
tongues interpretation I have ever heard has been delivered in the language of
the Bible, if God says 'you' instead of 'thou,' I'm not going to dismiss the
interpretation. We must remember that tongues interpretation is designed to
edify the Church, and some churches may require a different address than others.
God speaks in whatever language and in whatever way best suits the particular
body of believers. Now, I am not saying that He would say--'Hey y'all, that
ain't what I've called ya to do? What are ye, stupid?,' but I would be care-
ful about crystallising God's voice in a historical, 17th c. framework.
No disrespect meant, I assure you.
