The above contention is based on an incident where a proponent of
different translations got into a coughing fit during a televised KJV
debate.

   No doubt this could be true. I will not say it isn't but, for
my ownself, I've never heard this before. I do have documentation
of those who have in times past translated the Word from KJV to
something else have their voice or mind lost. The information is
in a book that I have loaned out right now and I don't have access
to the dates and the exact persons but, can in just a matter of time.
The information would be very lengthy, so I could possibly post the
book and whoever would be interested could possibly purchase them one.
