Praise the Lord Friends!
I am sending this little story for part of this devotion...I can't remember
if I have used it before, so if it sounds familiar to those of you who have
been on my mail circulation for a while, I apologize...
Once there was a man walking down a beach in golden glow of the
California sun. As he was walking, sand between his toes and the salty waves
gently breaking at his feet, he noticed a figure up ahead. As he got closer
he saw that it was a little old man, bending down and picking something up
and casting it out into the ocean. When he came closer still he realized
that it was starfish that this man was casting into the sea. He approached
the little man and asked what he was doing.
The little man replied,"These starfish have been washed up here on the
beach durring high tide, and they would surely die in the schorching heat, so
I am throwing them back into the cool ocean waters from which they came."
The other man looked at him in puzzlement and said, "That seems like a ver
commendable gesture, but do you realize that there are hundreds of starfish
washed up on this beach, and hundreds of beaches on this cost, and thousands
of costs in this world...You can't possibly make a difference!"
The little man, not the least bit offended, looked the man square in the
eye, reached down, picked up another starfish and tossed it out to sea, and
stated, "Made a difference to that one!"
See, the devil would like to convince us that there are just too many lost
souls in this world, and that we cant possibly make a difference with our
little bus ministries and outreach programs...BUT MY FRIEND, THE DEVIL IS A
LIAR! Hallelujah! If we could just win one soul, we make a tremendous
difference...that is another soul in this Glorious Kingdom...another soul
over which the angels rejoice...another soul that could reach 7 more!
Dont ever underestimate your potential to be used of God as a soul-winning
vessel...We're not all called to be preachers, pastors, and evangelists, but
WE ARE ALL CALLED TO BE SOUL WINNERS!
GOD BLESS YOU!
Sister Jennifer
