7) Sin (Greek Hamartia) means a missing the mark (shooting of arrows, a
falling short of the mark), and, yes, we still do it to greater or
lesser degrees, but without the condemnation (Rom 8:1) that would
result from a deliberate walking contrary to Godly Principles.
Steven writes his thoughts:
1 Cor 15:34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the
knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
"Sin not," is a command, so in sleeping and sinning, we maybe are like
the five foolish virgins, all slept, but five had their lamps trimmed
and burning.(Oil in their lamps)
Mat 25:7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
Mat 25:8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for
our lamps are gone out.
God help us not to let the oil run out!
We must yield to doing what is right.
Rom 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of
your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness
and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants
to righteousness unto holiness.
I don't believe a Holy Ghost filled person can sin and not know it.
John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide
you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he
shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.
The "Spirit of truth," he will guide us into all truth, if we follow the
leading of the Lord we will overcome sin.
Phil 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already
perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also
I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.
Your servant for Jesus sake,
