Well I have heard many accounts of missionaries on the field that have
heard some one speak in perfect English when they received the Holy
Ghost. This was  shown true in one of the churches in our District when a
5 year old boy that immigrated form China was speaking in Romanian with
the dialect of a elder Romanian lady who did not speak clear English. She
got real excite dand said that the lad was telling all the wonderful
works of Jesus.
My point and question here with this is- Have any missionaries heard a
message given in tongues that they could readily translate to the foreign
language.
Also on the "Old English translation"- I was not around in the 1950's for
the latter rain movement, since I was born in 1964. My Mother-in-law was
and tells that the ones that were swept away by that would nearly always
start their "message" with the phrase "I am the Lord's annointed". The
criteria is not the language given, as we have churches with many
different regions represented. The criteria is the message of the
intrepretation. Does it edify and exort the whole assembly?
We have gotten afraid of wildfire these days to the point that we have
missed some wonderful moves of God. On the other hand, I am not so
interested in tongues and intrepretations as good old fashioned preaching
and teaching in English.
