Before I begin, I want to assure you that I am not directing this to anyone
person imparticular.

Could it be that we are becoming a little to legalistic, when it becomes
easier to murder your wife,(God can forgive you for murder but not remarriage
after divorce according to some) then do your time, (It's about seven years
in most states) then marry the one you wanted all along?
I think we are missing the point that Jesus was making in the 5th chapter of
Matt..Jesus asked us to do things that were so difficult that (as I mentioned
in a previous post), everyone reading this post is guilty of falling short in
at least one of these points .I don't know about you brothers and sisters in
the lord, but when I read the last verse of the 5th chapter "be ye perfect
even as my father in heaven", I feel like crawling under a church pew and
hiding. Why? Because I am guilty! I hate to admit it but sometimes I return
evil for evil. Some times not only do I not bless them that despitefully use
me, but I curse them.(it has been awhile:-)) I will not get into all of my
faults (not enough room here) but I think you are getting my point.
Why do we treat divorce in this passage any different than any of the other
mandates Jesus brought to us in Matt. chapter 5 thru 7 ? Could it be that we
are putting premiums on sin?
Please understand me, I am not an advocate of divorce and remarriage, I
believe there is a universal law stronger than the law of gravity that you
will reap what you sow. If you get a divorce the kids will suffer, you will
loose many of your friends, you will have financial troubles, you will always
have the social stigma that seems to follow, just to name some of the things
that you can look forward to.
The point that Jesus was making is, this is what I want, you are coming up
short.

  Enter Grace.

Eph 2:8-9
8	For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is
the gift of God:
9	Not of works, lest any man should boast.
