You:
Of course her marraige was legally annulled. but what
about her status before God?

Me:
Even in this time of mourning, peoples lives are at stake.

The whole point of the admonition about remarriage is that
unless your divorce falls under those two headings you are
still married to the ORIGINAL spouse.
This woman was never married to this man, legally or
Spiritually.

She unknowingly committed the sin of fornication for which
she can repent because this has ceased.

When you marry someone that is still married in the eyes of
God you cannot repent of YOUR fornication with this married
person until you cease the relationship. If I have
relations with a woman that has divorced her husband for
any other reason that those mentioned before, it is causing
her to commit adultery EVERY time and it is the sin of
fornication
for me EVERY time. This woman is still married to her
husband in the eyes of the Lord. That is the point Jesus
is trying to make.

You can put away or divorce a spouse guilty of fornication.
If you are divorced you are free. This is the ONLY cause
that Jesus gave but Paul broadened it to include the
unsaved mates of new converts that would not live with
them.

You see, if your "separation" is for ANY other than these
two reasons, and you were Spiritually married to the person
(God never honors fornication) you are STILL married in
God's eyes until one of these two conditions apply or the
other person dies.

Once you, as a believer, are married to a person you are
married to them for life. The ONLY causes for divorce are
fornication and the abandonment of a new convert by an
unbelieving spouse.

You can plug this into any situation and it comes out the
same.

Continue to pray for me!
