<<One of my friends, that is
saved and singled, just found out that she was pregnant and she asked me
if she were to get an abortion would God forgive her. I tried to tell her
that the point is not rather or not God will forgive you but how did you
get to this point? If you doing God's will in the first place you would
not be in this situation. She doesn't feel that it is a sin. So we tried
to call my first lady but she wasn't in (We were going to do the my friend
is in a situation question). she told me don't worry about it because she is
going to get the abortion on Friday! Pray that God
will touch her heart.>>
Hello Crystal!
Welcome to Higher-Fire! Glad you found us!
It's hard to know what to say in a situation like this but if I'm right your
friend has not been raised in this. Sometimes when people are new it takes
time for their thoughts and ideas to change especially when everyone in their
household has lived like that their whole life long. Even though she needs
guidance and gentle persuasion in the "right" direction the fact that what
she did was wrong is now in the past and can't be undone (aside from asking
the Lord's forgiveness). "Now" you can help her work on what "is" there.
Convince her that she carries a "real life" and that even though she may not
want that "precious life" now God still created it. If your are mature enough
to partake in the marriage act then you have to be mature enough to face the
consequences. The choice is not whether to keep the baby or not, the choice
was before that when the life was cenceived but you can help her with that
part later. Right now she needs support and direction and calling your
pastor's wife is the best thing you can do and I commend you for trying to
reach her. Please call until you do reach her as she'll have some great
insight for you and your friend.
I'll be praying!! May the Lord give complete direction!!!
Love, Laurie Gibson
P.S. Please keep us posted on the outcome.
