Anthony:
> I received a free bible in the mail this last week, It
was called the
> Extreme Faith Bible, obviously targeting the teenage
reader. It is in the Contemporary English Version and, of
course, it reads very easy. Does anyone know anything about
this version, it's attributes/downfaults
Me:
Read John 1:1, it says it all, EXTREMELY biased to the
point of desception.
You:
(and please don't holler at me about this topic). I simply
want to know if anyone has had any experience in reading it
and can help me figure out if it is worth my time or
not....
Me:
No Hollerin'. Most new translations can be used in
CONJUNCTION with the KJV but IMHO this one is too biased,
and in some very subtle ways too, to be of any value.
I like the "Amplified" and intend to get one someday. I
will use it ONLY to aid in putting the KJVersion into
proper PERSPECTIVE
and to help put some of the THOUGHTS and PRECEPTS and IDEAS
*_expessed_* in this translation into LANGUAGE that is more
easily UNDERSTOOD in an effort to INTRODUCE the listener to
the Spirit that dwells in me that they can be TAUGHT of Him
themselves and THROUGH Him, fan the embers which HE has
kindled into a BLAZE!
I am trying to put last week into context and will then
write it out, because He was with me and IS with me I have
survived this thing.
I wish to state without hesitation that God is GOOD and
FAIR and JUST and if you will be kept, He will keep you!
Jesus knew sorrow and I know sorrow. The servant is not
above His Master. This is the gain my friends: that He
knows my sorrows
and through them, I know His.
