Subject: Revival News from Mexico!!! - MARCH/APRIL

>From the email desk of
Superintendent T.Wynn Drost

	* Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. On Saturday, the 22nd of March, we had a
Fellowship service with the Churches of the Tamaulipas District (that
encompasses the state of Tamaulipas). It was beautiful to see over 220
people in attendance and 11 received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. The
state of Tamaulipas borders Texas from Laredo to Brownsville (Texas). We now
have 9 churches in that state alone.

	* Healed of Cancer. During the service in Nuevo Laredo a dear sister from
the Church in Reynosa (across from McAllen, Texas) came to me, bubbling with
joy, as she related how God had healed her of cancer in the womb. In
December Sister Oralia Morales had been told by the doctors that there wasn't
anything they could do for her, since they had found cancer in her body in an
overly-advanced stage - even to operate! But, there's another Surgeon for
whom there is no cancer too advanced!!! We had been in a service in their
local Church together, with several of the saints and the Pastor prayed for
Sister Oralia. Once again Jesus came through showing his healing power,
healing Sister Oralia completelly. Her husband, who had not been in the
Church, has now come to the Lord on account of that beautiful healing - that
he witnessed himself!!!

	* We keep getting various great and interesting reports from all over the
country of how God continues to bless. Time and space don't allow us to
include it all here, but we do want to share some of the things with you,
requesting your continued prayer for the Work in Mexico.

	* CONALID. During the early part of March (4th - 7th) we had our Annual
National Leadership Conference. This brings together all of our leaders from
the National Board (District Supervisors), and the Boards of the Ladies',
Youth, Men's and Missions national groups. We had 106 leaders from all over
the country of Mexico. It was great as the different reports were presented
of what God has done during 1996 (the past year). This is also a time for
instrospection and goal setting for the new year.
We are happy to see, that not only is the Work in Mexico growing numerically
(as far as constituents, Ministers, Churches, etc.), but it is also growing
financially, and in it's financial commitments. We had an over-all growth in
all the national funds of 51.2% over the year before!!! That is especially
outstanding when we consider the economical crisis that Mexico has undergone
in the last two years, since the Peso was devalued by 50% in December of
1994. God is good, and He is blessing the UPC of Mexico. A strong Church
in being developed in this country!!!

	* MINISTERS. We were happy to have Brother Edwin Judd, former Secretary of
Foreign Missions, Ministering to us during our Leadership Conference. It was
a blessing also to personally remember back to when Brother Judd first came
to visit us when we had first arrived in El Salvador in 1975. We appreciate
the faithfulness and example that Brother Judd has been over all this years.
We were also happy to have Brother and Sister Lloyd Shirley (Regional
Director) who also Ministered in such a capable and inspiring way. We
appreciate our leaders.

	* NATIONAL MINISTERS. We are so happy with all the national Ministers that
God is raising up. We now have 204 National Licensed Ministers and 43
Workers. Very few of the Licensed Ministers are not Pastoring, therefore
(except for around five of them) that figure represents the number of Pastors
in the UPC of Mexico.

	* OUR CONSTITUENCY in Mexico now stands at 17,524 - to God be the glory!

	* MISSIONARY LEAVES. Brother and Sister Paul Pool, who have labored in
Mexico as Missionaries for two full terms, have felt a change in the
direction of their lives. They have returned to the States, and are involved
in Ministry in Edinburg, Texas.
We appreciate the work and effort that Brother and Sister Pool gave to the
work in Mexico. They were initially involved in the Huasteca mountains of
Mexico - in the state of San Luis Potosi. During their first term they were
a blessing as they helped to establish churches among the indian population
in that part of the country. Then, in the last term they have been living in
Chetumal, Quintana Roo, and have been Supervizing the Work in the Yucatan
peninsula.

PRAY FOR CONTINUED REVIVAL IN MEXICO.

Jesus wants to be Lord over Mexico!

P.S. If you have not received former updates and would like to, please let
us know - we would gladly comply.
