Bro. Roger:
> Brother David, I teach a teen's class, ages 12 -21,
about 50 students, mixed, street

your mailing address and the

> I must warn you they are a bit different.
Me:
Yeah, he sent me a couple, pretty good stuff. As to them
being different I hadn't noticed, but then when I teach
class I am likely to sit at the end of the table with my
back to the class and speak to them through a mirror
(lesson on the Godhead-long story) or teach with my glasses
on upside down to see how long it takes someone to notice,
this is for this Sunday on "perception." You know, see how
long it takes for someone to "percieve" that MY
"perception" has been altered and use this as a "lead" to
ask if there are other ways to "see" what might affect
another person's "view" of things. Then we will "look" at
their perceptions and "see" how close they come to reality.
The BIG thing is to not let them intimidate you. Kids are
"geared" to learn and it is our nature as adults to teach
them. We just have to relax and do what comes natural.
I find the best source to be God. He knows what traits of
yours He is trying to emphasize to the kids. You have to
have a calling for this and realize that this is part of
His plan for you. You can be a very effective teacher even
if you are wrong most of the time if God is in it. I once
told a friend that he could learn something from everyone
on the Earth, even the most stupid person ever. He thought
for a moment and asked "What could you possibly learn from
the most stupid person on Earth?" and I said "That YOU
don't want to be that stupid!"
God has blessed Brother Roger to fall into neither of the
above catagories!
