A Chipped Plate

(Inspired by last night's message at church.)
A lady was invited to her friend's house for supper. When she got there,
the lady saw that her friend set out the fine china for her. She said
"Oh, you don't have to set out the fine china for me!" Her friend said
"We always use the china. It is for special people and no one is more
special than my family."
As they sat down to eat her friend began to explain to her all the little
chips and nicks in the china. " You see this? That was when my son got
really excited because he lost a tooth." "See that? That was when my
husband and I first met."
We are like the fine china in the master's kingdom. Are you chipped? Are
you broken and dirty? That may mean you are also used by the master.
Sure, you could be a perfect plate with no chips and no dirt on you, but
it would also mean that you stayed in the cabinet. What use is a plate
that stays in the cabinet and is never used? When we get used, we also
get dirty. We need to clean up, so he can use us again.
