Revived Holy Roman Empire

A few months ago, I wrote about the whore of Babylon in the book of
Revelations and how one can logically conclude that it is the Roman
Catholic Church. (See Ecumenism in Scripture) I will now go to the Old
Testament to try and back this up further.
Daniel 2:31-35 "Thou, O king sawest, and behold a great image. This great
image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form
thereof was terrible. The image's head was of fine gold, his breast and
his arms silver, his belly and his thighs brass, his legs of iron, his
feet part of iron and part of clay. Thou sawest till that a stone was cut
out without hands, which smote the image upon his feet that were of iron
and clay, and brake them to pieces. Then was the iron, the clay, the
brass, the silver and the gold, broken to pieces together, and became
like chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away,
that nomplace was found for them; and the stone that smote the image
became a great mountain and filled the whole earth."
Daniel 2:36-45 gives the interpretation of the dream:
36 This [is] the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof
before the king. 37 Thou, O king, [art] a king of kings: for the God of
heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 38
And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and
the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made
thee ruler over them all. Thou [art] this head of gold. 39 And after
thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third
kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth. 40 And the
fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in
pieces and subdueth all [things]: and as iron that breaketh all these,
shall it break in pieces and bruise. 41 And whereas thou sawest the
feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom
shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron,
forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay. 42 And [as]
the toes of the feet [were] part of iron, and part of clay, [so] the
kingdom shall be partly strong , and partly broken . 43 And
whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle
themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to
another, even as iron is not mixed with clay. 44 And in the days of
these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never
be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, [but]
it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall
stand for ever. 45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out
of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron,
the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made
known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream [is]
certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Verse 39 tells us that these kingdoms will rule over "all the earth".
Daniel told the king that he (the king) was the head of gold. Babylon
ruled the known world at that time. Belshazzar ruled after
Nebuchadnezzar. He was replaced by the Medes and Persians. The Medes and
Persians empire is what would logically be the arms and breasts of
silver. This type of kingdom reigned for 200 years. (So we see that it is
kingdoms and not just certain kings.) The belly and thighs of brass
logically symbolize the Grecian empire which was dominant for about 130
years. After that the Roman Empire ruled which was the legs of iron. This
empire was still in power at the time of Jesus Christ. All these empires
were made of metal only until the last one. The last one was mixed with
clay. So the iron was still in effect, but it was mixed with something.
The clay represents the Roman Catholic Church. The empire was now ruled
by a political leader and a spiritual leader as well.
When we compare history with Biblical prophecy, we see that these things
logically fit together.
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they
shall mingle themselves with the seed of men; but they shall not cleave
one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
These leaders did not mix together and often did not even get along, but
they were both leaders. This alliance never lasted.
There will be a "stone" cut out of the mountain, which will roll down and
smite this image. The stone grows until it fills the entire earth. In the
days of the ten kings (portrayed by the ten toes of the image), God will
set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed. Bible prophecy speaks of a
union of ten kings that is yet to come. (Daniel 7:24, Rev. 17:12)
Irvin Baxter, who writes "Endtime" magazine and bible studies speculates
that this 10 nation union may be the European common market. He gives
other ideas as well, but we can see how this can take place in our
present day.
Historically, we can see how Nebuchadnezzar's dream has unfolded. Couple
this with the prophecies concerning the great whore and the antichrist
and false prophets in the book of Revelations and the revived Holy Roman
Empire is what makes more sense than anything else. God gave us these
prophecies that we might have our eyes opened to the signs of the times
and so we might see what is coming.
We know that not everyone who calls Jesus "Lord" is going to be saved.
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad
[is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in
thereat: 14 Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way,
which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of
false prophets , which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly
they are ravening wolves. Matt 7:13-15
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the
kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is
in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy
name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I
never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Matt 7:21-23
Jesus said that many will come in his name. Some will even prophesy in
his name. (Remember Ciaphas the high priest who had Jesus crucified
prophesied and also Saul prophesied while trying to kill David!) Some
will even do wonderful works in his name but Jesus will call them workers
of iniquity.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall
shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they
shall deceive the very elect . Matt 24:24
But ye , beloved , building up yourselves on your most holy faith,
praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God,
looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. Jude
