Chapter 16
The Boat Rockers
> When we met at Brother I. H. Terry's store-front church to discuss the coming
> together merger, we listened to arguments for and against our coming together.
> Brother Terry and Brother Sherman Langford spoke for the merger and Brother
> Hurley against it. The church had once been a pet shop until Brother Terry
> converted it to a church. In his zeal for the Oneness message, he placed a
> sign in the window which read: "All Trinities are going to hell."

Dave responds:
I knew Jimmy Davis & I.H. Terry. I was once in Jimmy Davis' service and
he mentioned that people in the UPC were going to hell. He began to
mention how "loose" the UPC has gotten. So where do we draw the line?

I think it is best to leave all other individuals who we think are not
saved because they are not part of our group or don't see eye to eye as
us, alone. God is God and He will judge who makes it into Heaven...not
you or I.

Over the years growing up, I've seen various ministers criticize their
brethren within the same organization and judge their salvation. This is
totally uncalled for. I have tapes by Carl Ballestero. I have one called
"The Handwriting on the wall" preached in 1967 at a General Conference.
He criticizes men who wear short sleeve shirts and women who get perms.
Isn't it amazing how some things are more important to people rather
than lost souls??? No disrespect to Bro. Ballesteros...just an analysis
of how things were.
