I attended the Annual performance of the PAssion play at
Calvary Tabernacle in Indianapolis. If you have ever had a chance
to see this, you would know that it is a very powerful drama.
This year, like the years in the past, the drama was free and open
to the public. Many people attended and were from various
religions. In the past, this play shown the life of Jesus,
the crucifixion, and the resurrection without dwelling to much
on anything else. This year was different. They added the
true steps to salvation! They even had actual baptisms as if
they happened back then. Praise God!
I was sitting pretty close to the front and noticed the people
in front of me were from a different type of church. When the
play was over, they were discussing what had just prevailed
beofre their eyes. I am sure that they will think about
what had occured for days to come.
At the end of the play, after Jesus arose from the grave,
there was a momentary black out and the lights came back on
showing Jesus in the background and as he rose his arms up
he ascended into the heavens. The effects they had were
tremendous. I felt that I was sitting right in the middle
of Bible times.
The most touching part even just to think about was the
crucifixion. The actor that played Jesus(Bro. Barcus) made
the part seem so real.
I enjoy seeing this drama every year and hope to see it continue
througout the years. If you ever get a chance to see it or
even buy the videotape, please Do! It is a very strong
remembrance of why we are here and what we should be doing while
awaiting Gods return!
