Some of us have been raised using the word "heck". I personally don't get
offended at the word. And if the word hell had been used in a different
context, then I could understand your sensitivity. Saying that "Hell could
freeze over" is just a figure of speech. Just look at the meaning. As far as
humor goes, just look at some of the people God created. You can't tell me He
doesn't want us to laugh or have fun. I love to see my child laugh and smile.
I'm sure God loves to see us smile and laugh and be happy. Smiles and laughs
are a sign of happiness. I love to see others laugh. I love to see people
happy and I love to laugh myself. My husband is quite a joker and we love to
laugh together. I've noticed that many serious people love to be around my
husband because he makes them laugh. The Bible itself tells us there is a
time to laugh. I believe that even the Lord Himself looks down on some of the
things His children do and does a little laughing with us. That leaves a good
feeling in my heart because I know that He knows how we feel. After all, He
did make us in His image. He's a wonderful Savior and I love Him! I've often
heard that we see God the same way we see our earthly father. Was your father
a serious man? Maybe that is why you feel we should not be humerous. My
father was pretty serious (bound by alcohol as a matter of fact), and I
believe I saw God as serious and demanding and was scared to do any wrong
because I thought I'd be punished. As I grew in Him and read His word and got
to "know" Him, I realized, He's not like that at all! If we could just get
the concept of His grace! What a world of change it makes in our lives! He's
soooo good to us! I love Him! God bless each of you!
