Humor In Pentecost

Dear Bro. and Sis.(plural. I don't know how to type that):

I have only been able to skim some of the communication coming to me
recently. It has been very busy around here and I have not managed
to get a computer set up at home that can accommodate the internet.
God willing we will soon.

As for humor in Pentecost, I am a born-again child of Jesus under
the pastorship of Rev. Jeff (or J.W. as some people refer) Arnold.
Believe me he can and has used humor to deliver sermons. I am sure
that some people could get and have gotten offended and think that
things are taken too flippantly. But then some people are "against
everything except fresh air". (Guess who's quote that is.) It isn't
as if that's all he does. The power of God moves on him very often
and his annointing is unmistakable.

I personally think that a somber, sad, distant, stuffy, pretentious
attitude or facial expression is not a good witness. No one wants to
spend the rest of their life looking like their in pain or under
stress all the time. I was raised in a strict Catholic home and had
the impression that God was this staunch, solid, stern-faced "person"
(excuse the word, its only a figure of speech) that was just waiting
to bring judgement upon everyone for their sins. Bro. Arnold taught
me that God is kind, tender, merciful, long-suffering, and JUST. His
mercy and grace extends before the mighty hand of justice. This is
from the unfathomable, unconditional love that he has for us. Each
one of us!

When Jesus told his disciples to let the little children come to him.
It was because he loved them and they were drawn to him. Anyone
that has spent time with children knows that a child will steer clear
of a gruff, mean looking person. They gravitate towards the smiling,
kind faces.

God is Love, Love is joy, joy is happiness, happiness comes in many
shapes. Only one of them is humor. Trying to separate spiritual
joy and personal happiness (to me) is like trying to divide God. I
do not believe that a person can truly have spiritual joy without
having personal happiness or have personal happiness with out
Spiritual joy. Spiritual joy comes from being close to God and
having his light shine through you to other people. This gives
personal happiness which deepens your desire to know and love God.

Have I sufficiently drifted from what I was trying to say? Probably.
When I start thinking on God's goodness I can not focus on anything
negative. It is not possible. God is so good. Life is meant to be
good. That doesn't mean that we will be smiling and laughing all the
time, but happiness should prevail in all forms.

I hope that everyone has a great day and God smiles on you.
