Video Badges?

I was reading the post regarding Video Badges. Here at the University
of Florida they have put in to use a card reader system. The cards
they are calling Gator All-in-one cards. For the students, they can
go to the Barnett Bank and put money on their account for the card
and use it in vending machines all across campus to get sodas,
snacks, etc. It also is their ID and library card. For the staff
they can also use it for the same things and also in the newest
building and parking garage it is used to get into the "gated"
parking. This is the area that costs us $404 per year to have a
parking space. They haven't implemented the building system yet but
are in the process of setting up the entrance system for after hours
access by putting your card through a scanner. This allows them to
monitor who has come and gone from the building. They said it was
also going to be tied into the heating and cooling system so that if
you come in on the weekend when the building systems are on the
economy system and temperatures are set different, the card would
tell the system what area you work in and change the temperature
accordingly. The card look similar to a credit/debit card, although
it has our picture on it. The magnetic strip is what runs through
the machine to activate whatever you are doing.

Interesting, I just looked at the back and read what I had only
scanned previously. It reads just like an ATM card. "This card is
the property of Barnett...." That is funny I thought they belonged to
the University.

I am sure these types of things are happening many places.

Makes you stop and think.

Remember, Jesus loves you all!!
