A DAY OF REMEMBERANCE 3/27/96

Not a word is spoken.
In the silence echos resound,
As each of us quietly remember
Those who were not found.

Day after day we saw them,
Yet never did we speak.
Waiting for just the right moment,
Always being to weak.

And now the chances are over.
Those battles have been lost.
If I could go back, I'd surely speak out
Regardless of the cost.

Each time I met a stranger,
What I could have done!
If I'd been bold enough to share the truth
How many souls would have been won?

His table is not empty
For there are many of us here,
But for tonight we dine in silence
Remembering those we held dear.
