RJ@eli.wariat.org, I am trying this morning to contact the person who knows
the originator of the quotation, "God always gives His Best to those who
leave the choice to Him."
I personally got it from Mildred Hildreth of Yakima, WA. while I was Pastor
of Emmanuel Assembly. I do not believe it was original with her.
However, I have written to the 90 people on my own list of CHRISTIAN
INSIGHTS, which I send out every week. One of them told me once who it was,
but I, being bald headed, have forgotten where I put the name. :-(
If and when they reply, I will forward it to you.
God Bless
Marion

By the way, here is the INSIGHT I just sent out. I will paste it on to this
letter. Hope you enjoy it.

                     CUMBERED ABOUT
Luke 10:40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and
said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone?
bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her,
Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one
thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be
taken away from her.
I did a word study here this morning about what it means to be CUMBERED
ABOUT. In the case of Martha, she was CUMBERED (pulled in different
directions) (dragged all around) by SERVING.
Jesus did NOT tell Martha she SHOULD NOT BE SERVING. Her problem was in
being CAREFUL (anxious) and TROUBLED (disturbed) about what she was doing,
and the fact that Mary was not helping her. Maybe a bit of sibling rivalry?
I sold paint in Yakima until I was 75 years old, and our supervisor told us
many times, "The customer may not always be RIGHT, but he/she is NEVER
WRONG."
INDEED, THERE ARE TIMES FOR SERVICE, and we SHOULD DO IT WHEN THOSE TIMES
COME.
But there are also times when we should choose, as Mary did, to DO NOTHING
BUT WORSHIP AND LISTEN TO JESUS.
It is a matter of TIMING and DESIRE.
If our ONLY DESIRE is to SERVE, we become out of balance. Likewise, if we
desire to WORSHIP ONLY, we lack something that we should have.
Both are GOOD, but there come times when one is more NEEDFUL than the other.

We must learn WHAT to choose, and WHEN.
