Bro. RJ Brown spake:
* Do you think that this was pre-arranged personally with these people?

Yup! Jesus knew well in advance that the apostles that were regularly
seen with him wouldn't care for his broken lifeless body. I probably
shouldn't say *care*. I should say, I don't think the apostles had the
*guts* to care for the broken body right from the cross prior to the
time the Holy Ghost was given. They were there at the foot of the cross
when he died, but, for the most part when the crowd left, the apostles
left. Then the body was given to Nicodemus and Joseph of A. and their
servants (maybe) to care for, prepare, and bury.

I wouldn't also be surprised to find out officially that Nicodemus and
Joseph of A. were one of the original 120 in the upper room when the
Holy Ghost was first poured out on man.

* Do you have scripture, or reference to law or customs of the times to
* back this statement up? I find this idea *VERY* interesting!

Nope! I just think it is interesting that there's one mention of a
nightime visit. And it just so happens that he (Nicodemus) and Joseph
of Aramathea helped in the arrangements afterwards. I think Jesus was
very complete in knowing what to do and when. I don't think that he
would leave a loose and dangling funeral arrangements for just any official
of the time to decide. I think that this also ties in with the way that
Mary annointed him unto his burial and the way he rebuked Judas for it.
He realized that this was unto his death. I don't think he pre-arranged
Mary's annointment of Jesus, but he still had to know it was to happen.
