Yes, and if the Lord does not return until after space travel and
colonies are established on other planets, then "world" would have to
include those other planets "where men dwell", not just the planet
Earth.

My understanding of the term "world" as used biblically is the created
physical universe, or in these cases, that portion of the created
physical universe that is inhabited by the creation God made in his
own image: man.

BTW: I also take Ge 1:1 "heaven" and "earth" to mean "heaven"="space",
and "earth"="matter".  By E=mc^2, matter=energy, so all that needs to
be accounted for at this stage is: where does God's creation of "time"
fit in?  I do not beleive that time exists outside the created
physical universe; therefore, time had to be created too.  I beleive
that God transcends time -- exists outside of time -- "I am that I
am".  In the beginning he created everything, and that includes the
beginning itself, in the sense of the origin of time.  Perhaps this is
getting outside of theology and into astrophysics...
