Dear Bro Dan ,
At the Passover feast Jesus said , " Take eat .......... do these
things in remembrance of me ." Paul followed up with the tradition but he
also said not to let any man judge you in meat, or in drink , or in respect
of any holiday , or of the new moon , or the sabbath days : Which are a
shadow of things to come ;but the body is of Christ . Traditions can be of
great value if we do remember Christ by preforming them . If we lose the
true meaning behind these traditions and practice traditions simply for
traditions sake , then I believe we are no better than the heathen .I
believe that there are good traditions even if they began the wrong way ie.
Easter is not the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross ; but it
reminds me of that time . If the easter bunny takes presidence over this
well.............. then it is just plain wrong .
I have been told that the sabbath is on Saturday ; but my Church gathers on
Sunday . Is this wrong ? I don't know ; but I don't see it changing in the
forseable future . My Bible tells me to worship Him in Spirit and Truth .
Because of the calander and the way it has been adjusted over and over it
is difficult to tell the exact time of anything . That's not going to stop
me from celebrating occasions that are special to me in Christ . I believe
this was Paul's intent . Of course ,of all the things that I do know , I
know that I could be wrong . Please correct me if I am wrong . It is my
intention to worship Him in the very best of ways .
God Bless ,
John (still learning ) Labas
