In a message dated 97-05-08 02:39:59 EDT, you write:

<< Well, showing that prophecy was fullfilled does not prove the Bible
correct, but showing that a Biblical prophecy was not (and cannot be
in the future) fulfilled would disprove the correctness of the Bible.
This is called disproof by counterexample, and is a well established
technique in both math and logic as well as law. >>

Excellent point! It should be much easier for someone else to disprove the
validity of the Bible, than for us to prove it to their satisfaction. Of
course, this has been tried before:

"In 1861, the French Academy of Science published a book attempting to
show that the Bible was contradicted by fifty-one scientific facts. However,
today, not one of these so-called scientific facts are accepted by students
of science."

Rom 3:3-4
3	For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of
God without effect?
4	God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written,
That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when
thou art judged.
