You:
> We could go on but this should be sufficient. Your
assumption is rather a shirt-tail theory. I qoute, "as
John saying here is wisdom the number of the man is 10, 5,
19, 21, 19". Sorry guy that will just not stand up to
scutiny. I believe Dr. Gentry has not only the credentials
but the
> proof that 666 is the sum of this mans name of Rev.
13:18.
Me:
No sir. You said I was WRONG. That statement means "in
error." What I asked of you was PROOF of the error and not
another hypothisis. Besides IF you use this system you
MUST reduce the number to it's LOWEST position ie. (in
English) 6+6+6=18, therefore under this method you add the
1 and the 8 and get "nine." Now I don't know this number
is in the lowest postion but I seriously doubt that it is.
As to the credentials of your "witnesses" above might I say
that they read the Bible and come up with the idea that God
is one but in three persons. Think MAYBE they have a
problem with Greek too?
As to the pebble thing, when Israel had a role call you
were "numbered." This was done in several fashions as we
do them today, the "aye", the "here" and the "role call"
JUST LIKE THEY DO IN CONGRESS today on IMPORTANT votes.
What *I* have said is that this SEEMS to me the simplest
MOST likely explaination, especially since the word comes
out to be pronounced "jesus" in English. Even YOU must
admit that that is just plain EERIE.
What I would consider proof of my error sir would be that
the word represented by the Greek characters 1. CANNOT be
considered a "word/name" (You have admitted that it could.)
2. That that word/name could NOT be the English word
"jesus" (This you haven't done).
You:
> Have you any information like that of Zahn who excavated
Pompeii that
> would give credence to your theory? I think not.
Me:
Huh? Oh, credentials. I have one these guys don't and
that is the Living Spirit of God in me. That doesn't make
me right but it sure doesn't make me WRONG either.
When you can no longer disprove the argument do you then
attack the person's credibility? Examine the statement for
what it says and not who said it.
2 Corinthians 3:1
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some
others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of
commendation from you?
You:
> I hope that I have litterally provoked you to provide
proof as you have me! :-)
Me:
Please believe me when I say that I no longer get provoked
by you sir.
So Zahn and Gentry said "maybe" this means so-and-so.
You say this constitutes proof that I am wrong? Well......
As to the book of revelation being about the fall of
Jerusalem we have been over that. NO ONE can BEGIN to show
the TOTAL fulfillment of the prophecies and as you yourself
have pointed out, IF the term "shortly come to pass" means
what you think it did, ALL would have had to have happened.
Read your history.
