As an aside to this topic, concern Abraham's covenant...

This goes back to the subject of the blessings we share as Children of
God. The above written seems to me to clearly set out the tennants of
the covenant given to Abraham (though I would like to see associated
scriptures).
Someone has claimed that as the Church, we inherit the blessings of
Abraham. I contend that as the Church we inherit the promise of
the blessing, which is the Jesus Christ and His Spirit.
"That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles
through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of
the Spirit through faith." Galatians 3:14
Abraham was promised a son, which he received.
"And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the
promise." Hebrews 6:15
Yet there remain promises which he did not receive.
"By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a
strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and
Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: For he l
ooked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder
and maker is God." Hebrews 11:9,10
"And these all, having obtained a good report through faith,
received not the promise: God having provided some better
thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect."
Hebrews 11:39,40
[the promise was the Salvation through Jesus Christ and the outpouring
of His Spirit, see above and Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4, Acts 2:33,39,
Acts 13:23,32; Eph 1:13]
Yet still, there remains also a promise we have yet to receive.
"And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament,
that by means of death, for the redemption of the
transgressionsthat were under the first testament, they which
are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
Hebrews 9:15
"For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the
will of God, ye might receive the promise." Hebrews 10:36
[Notice that it is those who have **done** the will of God
who will receive the promise]
"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of
entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come
short of it." Hebrews 4:1
For the record, Romans 4:13 indicates that Abraham was
promised the whole world not just the Land of Israel.
"For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,
was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but
through the righteousness of faith." Romans 4:13
world = 2889. kosmos, kos'-mos; prob. from the base of G2865;
orderly arrangement, i.e. decoration; by impl. the world (in a wide
or narrow sense, includ. its inhab., lit. or fig. [mor.]):--adorning,
world.
[note: kosmos...same word we get our word 'cosmos' from]
As to the inheriting of the earth, the meek get it all in the end
anyway (Matthew 5:5).
