This is kind of indirect, but Brother Teklemarian (sp?) lost 
his baby to defend the truth.  The way I understand the 
story Brother T., who is currently the UPC Superintendant for 
all of Ethiopia, had his home invaded by troops (either 
rebel or government, I don't remember).  These troops 
were Communist.  They pointed guns at him and his wife 
and told him that if he did not renounce the Name of Jesus 
and cease preaching in that name, they would kill them 
all.  He refused.  They then grabbed his infant child from 
his wife's arms and said that they would kill the baby if 
he did not renounce Jesus.  He did not.  They then 
proceeded to kill the baby in front of them.  I believe they 
through the baby through the window.

I am sure this is not an apocryphal story, Brother T. 
has spoken here in Alabama, though I may not have the 
details exactly correct.

By the way, Ethiopia is having fantastic revival.  They are 
expecting one million souls to be born-again.  Last I heard 
at this years conference in one service over 36,000 people 
received the Holy Ghost.
