apologizing, accepting...

I am curious though...Could you expound a little on this?
I have heard many harsh messages preached.  Many times
it can cut deep, and yet be every bit truth.  How do you go
about apologizing for the delivery, without taking away from
the importance of the message?  Just curious... :)
