I did not say that Dave was saved.
I did not say that Dave is right.
I said we treated Dave in an un-Christian manner.
We can come against error without being error ourselves.

 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye
therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. 

This is hard to do, but we can do this by the Holy Ghost.
