On the subject of knowingly doing business with 'evil-doers':
Steven Hall pasted:
> Steven paste:
> Eph 5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness,
> but rather reprove them.
> Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth

Likewise,
"Abstain from all appearance of evil." 1 Thessalonians 5:22
There is this principle in the scripture that though we understand that
the gods of the world are idols, we might want to obstain from eating
the meat offered to them because of both those unbelievers who
might think we approve of the idols and also those believers who are
of weak faith.
I do agree with Bro. Litteral in his assessment that it is getting
extremely difficult to find anyone with whom to do business who is
not in someway related to evil-doing. For instance, the company
I work for is involved in Defense contracting. I was originally hired
to work in a commercial division. That division was dissolved and
I was transferred to another department. Could be a big moral
quandry if they did something involving destructive weapons.
Years back, I worked for a company which asked me to use unfair
and deceptive sales practices (we sold computers). I choose to
resign that job and it was the best paying job I ever had. Some ten
years later I still am not making anywhere near the money I made
at that job. I quit the job over principle. I did not have to participate
in the dishonest practices, I could have continued to work there and
did my job in an honest way. But I was a representative of the company,
and I simply did not even want to be associated with it.
I can see Dave's point of view. He has chosen to take a stand and
dis-associate himself from something which has very openly taken
a stand in favor of sin. I admire that stand, and it is not always an
easy road. As I said, it is getting increasingly difficult to find
organizations/companies which are not in someway involved in
supporting or condoning or participating in a questionable or even
overtly sinful practice.
"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is
this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction,
and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27
Perhaps we should be watching more closely with whom we
buy and sell.
"And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the
mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."
Revelation 13:17
