Me:
I have a section on my site called Biblical Prophesy and it
would sure save me a LOT of typing if you would allow me to
post much of this discourse. You have hit the nail on the
head and I must say in a VERY impressive fashion!

God has given me similar eloquence but I could learn much
of your Grace sir. Pray for me.

MeB4:
The idea that the Revelation is not laid out in
chronilogical
order comes from the idea of the Post Tribbers that the
rapture occurs after some great trial of the saints which
IS the outpouring of God's wrath.

Bro. Copes:
> I agree that Revelation is laid out in a
chronological order. I don't know to which "Post Tribbers"
you are referring when you say that they have the
chronology wrong.

Me:
The ones I have heard. I am pretty new at this stuff an it
amazes me that there are so many schools of thought on this
topic. I thought that if you had the Holy Ghost this would
at least make some kind of sense and that even if you/we
didn't agree on it all or understand it all, that the
overall scheme of things was incontrovertible.

MeB4:
Why not just read the book and SEE what it SAYS. Let's
not IMPOSE any veiw upon it but simply see what it says.

Bro. Copes:
I agree. The only limitation is that it must
harmonize with what the Old Testament prophets had to say
about the period. If it does not do so then the
interpretation is incorrect.

Me:
Yep. I have a real hard time establishing the chronology
of the Old Testament though and find that MOST impose
interpretations upon Scripture. I personally think the the
VAST majority has already been fulfilled. Not all, but
most.

 Bro. Copes:
Let us both be careful here. Certainly one must have
faith repent, etc. (things which the individual must do)
but one is not saved by the works they do but rather by the
works which Jesus did. It is not my righteousness which
saves me but His. On the other hand I do understand that my
sins (personal actions and omissions) can result in my not
obtaining the goal.

Me:
Right, the works done by Christ. My works, which are ALL
as filthy rags will have to have been confessed and
remitted. If ANY of mine remain I will be lost.

To paraphrase you and requote myself from earlier posts:
"We cannot be saved by our works but we sure can be damned
for them."

Bro. Copes:
I have crossed swords with a number of Calvinists who tell
me that it is impossible for a true believer to sin. I put
that one in the same boat as once saved always saved.

Me:
And this boat is at the bottom of the sea, is it not my
friend? ;^]

I said myself that we were closer than we thought. There
is a resolution to our "differences."

Looking forward to further discussions.
