Fingerprinting required by Banks

The theory is that if you cash a check and it is discovered that you
did it fraudulently, that they can use your fingerprint on the check to
match you with their list of common criminals, and track you down
and arrest you.

Another theory is that career criminals will be turned off by the
fingerprinting, and this action will keep them from doing anything
dishonest with stolen or bad checks.

This practice has holes...if I went across the country cashing bad
or stolen checks, and EVERY ONE OF THEM had my finger print
on it, they still wouldn't find me...know why??? I don't have a criminal
record with which they can match the prints!!
