Seems like some time past I heard of some Apostolic business directory
or something, something like the "Sheppard's Guide" directories that
some cities have. Has anybody heard of anything like this for
Apostolics? Perhaps there's a web page?
In my church, we have a real estate agent, an insurance salesman
(licensed in Illinois and Florida), a plumber, a car salesman, and a
couple of carpenters. My pastor owns an office building (currently
100% rented out). I do tend to use the services of the brethren in my
congregation. If I need help with yard work or babysitting done, I'll
hire the teens in our church for that kind of work.
The guideline for the H-F list is for members not to advertise
themselves if they have a service or product, mention in short sig
files excepted. Would anybody object if somebody were to volunteer to
compile a list of Apostolic businesses and posted this list to H-F a
couple of times a year? People could contact this commerce volunteer
via private email regarding inclusion on this list. The list would not
be restricted to people with Internet access.
