Bro. Kirk:
> How about:
> Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the
oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not
for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

> Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the
flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you
overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath

Me:
Praise the Lord Bro. Kirk! Long time no read!

These both say that a pastor has been put over the "flock"
to FEED them. Not run the individuals life.

This is also an admonition to the pastors to do their jobs
since like the pastors of the Old Testament, if you were
given 100 sheep you had better return 100 sheep or have a
VERY good reason! It is possible to loose sheep and have
them sit right in church every Sunday.

Mark 10
42 But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye
know that they which are accounted to rule over the
Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones
exercise authority upon them.

43 But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be
great among you, shall be your minister:

44 And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be
servant of all.

45 For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto,
but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

The pastor's job is to give the Word as God gives it to
him. His job is to weed out trouble makers and to pull
down vain imaginations. His job is to ask God and then
tell his "flock" the special instructions from the Words
that proceedeth from the mouth of God. The job of a pastor
is to identify the "wolves in sheep's clothing" among the
flock and to call false doctrine false and not tolerate its
teaching among his flock. The pastor is to nurture the
sick and to "restore" those who have "strayed."

Where does it say in here anywhere that he has rule over
your life? Jesus said himself that even the Apostles were
to serve.

We won't go into whether or not this is the way things are.
Since the time is tight there will be less and less of this
kind of pastor but OH! friends OH! the Grace God will
administer of the behalf of those who "are" like this!

I pray you each have one or be one!
