I enjoyed reading the post about soul winning, and it seems
to me, this is what our lives should be all about. I like to think
(as was the attitude of this post) that Jesus is the soul winner
and He uses willing human hands; feet; and mouths.
(And sometimes, He uses a Ford pickup for transportation.)

You were troubled because YOU almost missed the great
opportunity. The Lord never came close to missing the
opportunity. Sometimes I think these things are "almost
missed" in order to keep us from becoming proud hearted
and think WE are doing the perfect work. I appreciate the
sounds of human frailty in the post. God likes to work
when we can't seem to get it to work right.

Moses was born; reared; and developed to be the leader of
God's people out of the bondage of Eqypt. When he was
fully aware of his calling, Moses jumped the gun. He
decided to settle an arguement between two Jewish men
who were fighting. Now we think, '...what's wrong with
God; that was very noble of Moses to stop a fight between
brothers'! Yet, all because high and mighty self
got in the way, the Jews had to endure bondage for
another 40 years. The deliverance of the Jews forty years
later was NOT a 'missed oportunity'. My point here is
that God's will is the prevailing force and His will is not
dependent upon our yeilding to His will.

Satan would like for us to feel that we missed or almost
missed to try to discourage us. I believe that your lost
and lonely soul will still be saved if that is the Lord's will. And
that because of Jesus and not Mike Harvey. It is not wrong
to feel inadequate because you will remember, that in our
weaknesses, the Lord will manifest His strength. For some of
us, Satan would attempt to get us to act and speak on our
own and usurp the power of the Holy Ghost and do things
our way. Which is best, floundering weaknesses or bold,
inappropriate strengths?

On the subject of soul winning, I read where his holiness, the
Baptist pope, Billy Graham say that he believed that 85 to 90
percent of the Christian church members overall are sitting
on the pews LOST! WOW! This is the same dude that does
these crusades where THOUSANDS came forth to publicly
profess Christ as savior. Go figure! Back in the late 50's and
early 60's, this lady we would ride to church with a lot would
listen to Oral Roberts on the radio. He boldly preached (then)
to come to his crusades after you have gone to the doctors
and he would pray for you and you would get your healing.
He then would ask you to send the Lord money and give
Oral Roberts' address to send it to. Years later, Oral Roberts
established a University with all that money that was sent to
God. He gets on radio and television and Richard and his wife
Patti Roberts would dance (NOT in the Spirit) to
gospel music and singing. Then in his homily, Oral Roberts would
then appeal for money. This time he told that he had a vision
of Christ that stood seven hundred feet tall and this Christ told him
to raise the money to build a hospital on the University.

So, Mike, in my opinion you are much better off to feel
weaknesses than to become haughtily assertive.
Besides, Greg was to be delivered from sin and the sweet
Lord Jesus decided YOU needed deliverance from paperwork! YUK!

BTW, Bro. Mike, this post is well after the fact! How'd it go?
