You:
I don't have anything to say about them being married and
if people were saying things about them being married
behind their backs, I think they're adult enough to know
you can't pay attention to what other people are saying
about you because they're probably jealous of your
happiness.
Me:
I wish this was all that there was to it. This hatred
between the "races" (I don't like that term but don't know
a better one, any suggestions?) is so ingrained in our
everyday lives that many times we don't even know we are
being prejudice. I had a Sister in my church tell me once
that I had better "sit my white b--- down when anyone
preached in our church" (I have "walked out" on a couple
of preachers, one asked a "fee" for preaching and another I
knew was trinitarian). This is in the church. You make my
point in the next sentence.
You:
I'm sure before they got married they took the previously
mention reactions into consideration, but if you love
someone enough, those things don't matter.
Me:
That ***IS*** my point. That if you love someone enough
and you know that God has put you together, you will be
able to "overcome" these difficulties AND that a loving
counselor will ADDRESS these issues to get the feelings
of each partner into the open and touch on things that
maybe they didn't know about each other. I tell ya Sis,
after you have had to deal with this for a while and all
you have to look forward to when you get home is diapers
and cleaning up vomit and the laundry and the floors and
the errands and ALL THAT you had better be prepared.
If this becomes a topic early on, before the "stars" loose
their luster in the couples eyes it can be "dealt" with BY
THEM before it is a "crisis." That is what I meant.
I like your "fire" Sis, when God has "tamed" you you will
be an awesome witness!
Might I be so bold as to suggest you read up on Peter?
Helped me alot.
