Regarding the use of the term 'race'...

I also dislike the term 'race'. As someone else mentioned, when it
comes to Homo Sapiens, there is only the human race. The word 'race'
to me implies some sort of differentiation in species, which we know
is not the case. I prefer to use the term ethnicity, which by its
definition can apply to any group which so designates itself a group.
Webster's says:
ethnic = 2a: of or relating to large groups of people classed according to
common racial, national, tribal, religious, linguistic, or cultural origin
or
background <~minorities><~enclaves> b: being a member of an ethnic
group c: of, relating to, or characteristic of ethnics <~neighborhoods>
<~foods>
ethnicity = ethnic quality or affiliation
This can apply to people of various color groups, religions or even
just associations. It can be used of birth origin or of acquired
association. For instance, though my father-in-law was born in the
northern US, he has been residing in the south for many years and
now considers himself a southerner, that has become his ethnicity.
One final note, within the church there should be no worldly ethnicity,
period.
"For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have
put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither
bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are
all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:27,28
We are no longer even human, according to scripture.
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are
the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of
bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself
beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God:" Romans 8:14-16
"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God,
without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,
among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"
Philippians 2:15
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not
yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when
he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see
him as he is." 1 John 3:2
We are now the 'Sons of God', no longer citizens of this world.
We should shed our worldly associations and hold no longer to
them. We should not be hyphenated anything. Take a stand.
When asked, declare your true self, "I am a child of God, by
new birth, by adoption, a Son of God." As Jesus said, our
kingdom is not of this world. We are in the world but no longer
of the world.
Oh yea, did I mention that the number one definition of ethnic
in Webster's is HEATHEN?
