You know... the only thing I have a problem with is the way the *everything*
in relation is broadstroked at the occurance of one objectionable thing.
Example: A long time ago, a pastor was told not to go to a particular Pizza
Hut's anymore because they served beer amongst the family section in the
restaraunt. Then a few months later the same pastor was told of a wonderful
restaraunt in the same section of town (of which there's two) that was
endorsed by the presbyter that told him not to go to Pizza Hut (because of
the beer setup) but to go to
___I_don't_remember_the_name_please_fill_in_the_blank___ because they had a
little hallway between the beer serving place and the family place.
Rules made by man are created, *then* the loopholes to them are then put into
place to get around the rules that were previously made. It's like TV's in
peoples homes (scuze me... monitors), if it's *technology* that's sin, then
we can't have this forum, walk by the electronics department, see something
on a monitor in the grocery aisles, stand in a customer service lane and
watch the security camera's reception, etc without sinning!
It's what we do with it that matters! I don't like the idea of tattoos
being put on people or even a microchip kind of thing. I agree that it
*might* even de-sensitize someone to receiving marks on/under/in the skin.
But to say that the devil uses the stamping of ones skin in a lock-in (to
spread the gospel and further fellowship) for his purpose is swinging the
pendulum of moderation a little too far.
The Mark of the Beast will be a mark used for controlling people. It gains
them food, clothing, etc. I may even be used to track their whereabouts in
a computer system that can pinpoint someones location on earth. Think of
it, can you imagine someone with this implant/mark that instantly spottable
via satellites? Parents wouldn't need to fear with their kids marked. If
the kids are kidnapped, they can be found by a simple telephone call to the
local law enforcement agency. With a paperless society, your implant will
have all of your banking information to automatically transfer funds for a
can of Coke. There... we've done away with two different kinds of crime...
kidnapping and burgulary. Parole officers would *love* to have their
paroled criminals all
tagged and bagged into a specific area of 1000 feet from their home. If
they go outside of that radius, then they are instantly notified. You have
people then confined to their home areas passively. It's all about control
of a persons doings down to the n-th level of ones own being. The Mark of
the Beast allows someone/something/the Enemy complete control of everyone.
Just like God (almost). About as close to being God-like in power/control
as current technology will allow.
The MARK in itself isn't bad. It's what's done with the MARK that's the
sin. Will the mark then be used to *gain* things not otherwise available?
If God
can supply our needs, then God doesn't need a MARK to get us the things we
need (not want). The MARK, in this case, becomes a secret pass of sorts to
gain favor amongst men. Like a ring that lodgemembers have. Or a pass that
a countryclub members have. There's where the control of people comes in
because it'll be *exclusive* membership with open benefits to all. Sounds
won-der-ful, doesn't it?
