<< I have a friend who is nondenominational. We started a discussion about
salvation and we got on the subject of the Holy Ghost and speaking in
tongues. He says that his pastor says that tongues has passed away because
in the new testament the spirit was "given out by the laing on of hands."
He also says, "> We don't believe that you need to speak in tongues to
prove the existence of the Holy Spirit being with you<"
I have heard this too but of course experience tells me differently. They've
come to late to tell me because I've already done it and I know it's real and
I have PROOF! It's sad that they're missing out!
Anyway I don't know if anyone has said this yet but if you read on down it
says "And all these things shall come to pass when that which is Perfect
shall come". Jesus is the only thing that is perfect so when he comes back
we won't need to speak in tongues any more because we won't need proof or
evidence that He is in us because He will be WITH us. We shall see Him and
better, we shall spend eternity with Him! What an awesome thought! I can
hardly wait! Oh yes, one other thing.... every time someone received the
holyghost in the Bible, they spoke with tongues. I don't know if it is
possible to recieve the holyghost without tongues, but how would you know
without any proof or evidence? I guess it's possible for them to have it but
now know it. I'd much rather have proof! Amen?? =D
