I would first discuss my concerns with that pastor about the misquotes.  I
would do this by showing
what he said versus what the Bible reads.

If he gives a non scriptural answer, then it would be time to appoint a new
pastor or find another
church.  

One other option.  You could find out if he needs new glasses or is getting
too old.  (No joke intended here.)
